Just took my 2004 Infinity QX56 into the Infinity shop, and it looks like I may have a cracked exhaust manifold (technician said he was pretty sure, but would confirm on Monday). Luckily I am at 79k miles, just 1k miles before the 80k warranty so it will get replaced on their dime!
I want to be prepared to discuss options when I get the call back on Monday. If they do end up paying for replacement manifolds, do you think I can talk them into applying the money they would have spent on the manifolds towards my purchase of after market headers? Are the Doug Thorley long tubes the best headers for my vehicle http://www.dougthorley.com/prod-152.htm? Would I need any additional tubes/pipes/catbacks if I went this route, or can I just bolt this on with the rest of my stock exhaust system? What would be the labor difference required by the dealer to install aftermarket headers as opposed to the stock manifold?
