So I've been throwing the 0420 code for the past 2 years...
Because the code would go away in the Winter and stay on in the summer and go off again when the gas tank was FULL we all thought it was the gas pressure release valve. So I replaced it last Sept. finally.
Well it stayed off for a couple weeks (like normal because of the warm weather) then popped back on again.
Had the code tested again last Oct., same thing, 0420
As of yesterday which was a nice warm day, the light did not go off. So I went and scanned it again. NOW i'm getting 0420 AND 0430
And from the looks of it on the forum, it's both CATs?
If this is the case, what I do with my other vehicles is replace the CATs with test pipes and add a chip to the ECU to make it think the O2 sensors are working properly. We do not have emissions in case your wondering.
Am I able to do the same thing with the Mada?
2004 Armada 156k miles.
Thanks all for the help!
