Day Time Running Lights

My truck was originally from Washington state and I guess they do not have daytime running lights because when it was imported in 06 a module was added to make the lights come on half power at all times with the engine running. My thought was that the dealer should be able to program the body control module in order to comply with Canadian laws. I come from a GM background where this is possible. Can it be done on a Nissan so I can remove this unsightly module under my hood?
