However, the dealer "doesn't see it in their computer" as applicable and have validated i have the exact problem describe in the recall. I printed the document and send the service rep the DOT site above and see agrees, my VIN is part of the recall BUT since it is not in computer he can't do work. Of course. Also, he said it is highly unlikely Nissan will cover it as my 2005 Armada as 188K miles. Dealer wants $450 for the replacement.
So I call the regional specialist - Quin, she also says "its not in the computer so nothing we can do" and that "I shouldn't trust the internet". I told her this isn't the internet, this is the US government provided document FROM NISSAN.
So, what next? I read a bunch of the posts here and some people had success with filing a claim with NHTSA and BBB, is that my only route?
