Hey Guys...
Sorry I've been away the past while. I got married last October & have a new baby on the way (due in December). I believe the last time I was on I had just had a hood failure that caused the hood to fly up & smash the windshield (but this got me a Good Hood Ram Air for $200).
About 6 months later (this past St Patrick's Day) we had a drunk driver fleeing from a hit & run come through a utility pole, 70' of chain link fence 4 mail boxes, my company Chevy 1500 Express van, slide across my wife's Scion TC & land upside down nose to nose with my Armada (literally bumper against my grille guard), all of which were stationary/parked, mostly just causing chips in my drivers side paint & windows & cracking my ABS 1pc grille (which means my new RC1 should only cost me about $250 out of pocket once the insurance gets straightened out).
So again my rig has been in the shop. I just got it back the other day after waiting for insurance & juggling vehicles in & out of the shop.
When I got it back I drove it down the street & noticed that the brakes seems to shudder. The brake light came on & I pulled in my driveway. I have had this issue before & just pumped my brakes to adjust the pads, as described in the manual.
Ever since then the brakes still seem to shudder (not as bad), they don't feel nearly as confident, but the brake light hasn't come back on. I checked my Master brake cylinder & it shows full (though I'm sure its time to flush my brake lines). I visually checked my rotors (R1 Concept Premium Xdrilled & Slotted) & notice that on both the front rotors the Xdrills & slots are caked with brake dust (its now pretty hard & solid).
My question is have you guys that have the R1 Xdrilled & slotted rotors ever had this issue? Do I just need to clean my rotors & flush my lines or does this seem like a bigger issue?
I haven't driven this vehicle 500mi since the accident on St Patrick's Day & didn't notice any issues before it went to the shop, which I know it hasn't been driven much there either. Now that my expecting wife is driving it occasionally, I really want to make sure there are no issues.
Thanks guys,
