Hopefully someone here can help and/or point me in the right direction and I apologize for a seemingly long post. Owning my 2010 QX for three years, I always forget to ask service about this and if it is a problem.
Here in Miami, where temps can still be in the 90s at night, I pretty much keep both ACs at full blast when ever driving. Problem is, (at night) the windshield at front windows keep "frosting over" with moisture on the outside (I'm aware of the hot/cold condensation). Not so much a problem on the windshield as a swipe of the wipers clears enough to keep driving, but I'm not able to use the side mirrors much when this is happening. It seems that no matter where I have the setting for the AC vents, some to a lot of air is being pushed out the defroster vents causing this problem. Is this common? Is it an easy dealer fix?
Knowing that the air is being pushed out the defroster vents may explain another issue I've noticed from day 1. The air never seems to blow strong enough in my opinion. I know the cabin of the QX is quite large, but that should have no bearing on the force of the air when set to high and dash vents only. There have been rare occasions where the air has felt as I thought it should. I have a condition where I can't tolerate heat very well, and trying to use the AC of the QX doesn't relieve this problem any where close to many of the other vehicles I've owned.
Another issue was just noticed last night. When the windshield "frosted over" from the AC blowing directly on it, I tried turning up the air. I had the driver's side up to 90 degrees and cold air was still blowing out dash and defroster vents.
I'm scheduling a service appt for this week and was just wondering if anyone know what might be causing these issues before I took it in.
