Newish Member with new Armada Platinum Reserve

I joined about a year ago after purchasing a 2005 Armada LE. Other than the obligatory exhaust manifold/cat converter issue I was very pleased with the size, ride, and safety of the Armada. I was even impressed with the fuel economy (as compared to our Grand Cherokee with 4.7HO). Thanks to the info on this forum I was able to navigate my way through the other minor issues that came up (reverse sensors, spark plugs).

Our plan all along was to keep the 2005 Armada until this summer and then trade it in on the latest generation Sequoia. Well, after checking out the Sequoia at length we ended up getting a 2013 Armada Platinum Reserve instead.

Frankly, I was not at all impressed with 1) the price of a lightly used Sequoia, or 2) how cheap the Sequoia interior felt/looked, especially on the trucks with over 50,000 miles. The interior on my Camry is cheap, and it looks/feels much nicer than the Sequoia.

In retrospect, the powertrain and Toyota's reputation were the Sequoia's main selling points to me, and they just weren't enough to justify the price premium.

For the price of a two-three year old Sequoia Limited we were able to purchase the brand new Armada. The two tone interior looks great, as do the blacked out wheels/trim with the white exterior. Kids love the dual headrest dvd players as well. Needless to say it also drives/handles very nicely. Overall, very pleased with our purchase!
